Economic Valuation of Landscape in Marinas: Application to a Marina in Spanish Southern Mediterranean Coast (Granada, Spain)

Assigning a monetary value to landscape improves its importance. It helps realize the magnitude of benefits that can be obtained and represents basis for applying protection improvement policies. As case study, we considered Marina del Este, located on Spanish Southern Mediterranean coast, characterized by presence protected natural areas great rugged coastline beautiful sailors. This study applies analytic multicriteria valuation method (AMUVAN) estimate landscape’s economic contribution. combines hierarchy process discounted cash flow analysis. A total 16 participants were considered, all with knowledge about marina, which included marina management, management organizations competencies in environment, commercial operation, university professors. They weighted importance concerning rest activities, use versus non-use values, components (TEV) within marinas as asset. Results expressed may reach around 16.3 million euros. more than 3000% marina’s profit loss account. detailed analysis TEV makes it possible propose strategies improve landscape.
